Parents, children and staff celebrating the 6th Graduation Ceremony of FAST

Parents, children and staff celebrating the 6th Graduation Ceremony of FAST – ‘Families and Schools Together’ – presented by Mr Mitchell, Headteacher.

If you’re interested in taking part in the next cycle of FAST speak to Jenny Wilson, Family Support Worker, a member of the Social Inclusion Team or any of our parents who have taken part in the programme.

Vocabulary and Maths Parent Workshop

Parents across Year 3 came to learn more about how to support their children develop language through the understanding of vocabulary. Miss Liaw introduced a range of strategies to support parents with helping their children become more confident using key vocabulary. Vocabulary development is vital for EAL learners as well as all children to gain a sound understanding of what something means, looks like and how it can be used.
Year 3 and 4 parents came to learn about Ripple’s maths strategies and methods. This interactive session was lead by Miss Liaw and Mr Davis where we showed parents how and why we teach specific methods and they even had time to solve a couple of sums themselves!

Community Games Event

3SL participated in a Community Games Event at Goresbrook Primary school today. We focussed on team work, listening skills and having lots of fun. 3SL won 1 of 2 champion cups which celebrated all of our hard work!image1

Ripple Read-a-thon

Sponsored Read

Ripple children are to take part in a sponsored read in order to raise funds for new reading materials that will benefit children throughout the school.

The sponsored read will take place between Friday 2nd March and Friday 9th March

Please, could we ask you to help your children with the sponsorship form that will go out on Thursday 1st March, which is World Book Day? Please encourage your children to read as much as possible during this time or to sit and read together if they are young readers.

There will also be a reading log for the children to complete.

Thank you very much for your continuing help and encouragement.
